Relaxing into the present moment need not be a passive practice. It doesn’t mean we forgo having goals, or plans, or desires for the future. It’s simply dropping the stories we tell ourselves, about ourselves, that have no firm foundation – in this very moment. Mindfulness, in this sense, is the antithesis of passive. It’s animated by the energy of intense aliveness that appears as freedom, and flow, in this very now.
